There are multiple dining options on Thanksgiving Day in James City County.

Thanksgiving Buffet at the 501 Bar and Grill

The 501 Bar and Grill will have two seatings for their Thanksgiving buffet – one at 2 p.m. and one at 4 p.m. The buffet will include a carving station with turkey and top round roast beef, smoked salmon, yams, collard greens, mashed potatoes with gravy, Brussel sprouts, garden salad, pasta salad, green beans, butternut squash soup, homemade cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie a la mode. Thanksgiving at Craft 31

Craft 31 will offer their regular menu and a three course Thanksgiving dinner with the choice of three different entrees: savory roast turkey and giblet gravy, prime rib au jus or broiled flounder. Each entrée comes with three sides. Reservations are suggested by calling 757-378-3268. Craft 31 is open from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Bountiful Thanksgiving Buffet at Opus 9 Steakhouse

Enjoy the Bountiful Thanksgiving Buffet at Opus 9 Steakhouse on Thursday, Nov. 28 from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Cost for adults is $40.95 per person and children (6-12) are $15.95. Children 5 and under are free. Please call for reservations. The complete menu can be viewed online.

  • Cold Delights: Cranberry sauce, fresh fruit, assorted cheeses, roasted sweet potato salad, roasted garlic Caesar salad, mixed green salad with cranberry vinaigrette
    Savory Sides: roasted garlic and buttermilk potatoes, whipped sweet potatoes with pecans and caramelized marshmallows, stewed apples with ginger and cinnamon, traditional stuffing with sage and apples, cornbread stuffing with Andouille sausage, Manchego macaroni and cheese, green bean casserole with mushrooms and crispy onions, charred Brussel sprouts with lardons and butternut squash, saizon spiced rockfish with buckwheat polenta and pickled red onions, fried chicken with grits
  • Carving board: Roasted turkey with giblet gravy, honey-baked Surry Virginia ham, slow roasted prime rib with au jus

The Williamsburg Winery will offer two options on Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving at Café Provencal

Join the Williamsburg Winery on Thursday, Nov. 28 for Thanksgiving Day at Cafe Provencal. For reservations, please call 757-941-0317. Full menu details are available online. Price of menu $69 per person exclusive of taxes and gratuity.

  • First Course: Butternut squash soup or bitter green salad
  • Main Course: Roasted turkey wellington or Virginia crusted local rockfish
  • Desserts: Spiced wine poached pear or autumnal s’more

Thanksgiving Dinner at the Williamsburg Winery

Join the Williamsburg Winery on Thursday, Nov. 28 at 2 p.m. for Thanksgiving Day at the Williamsburg Winery for a delightful holiday feast. Tickets must be purchased online. Full menu details are available online. Cost is $49 per person and $20 for children 12 and under. Price includes food and non-alcoholic beverages. Wine and beer will be available for purchase.

Menu includes:

  • Joyce Farms smoked free range turkey with fennel apple chutney and pan gravy
  • Honey bourbon short ribs with basil parmesan creamy polenta
  • Edwards bacon stuffing with cranberries, figs and green onion
  • Wessex Hundred salad with poached pears, candied pine nuts, goat feta and blackberry honey mustard
  • Roasted baby carrots and green beans with hickory glaze and almond granola
  • Sweet potato hash
  • Farrow risotto with garden peas, Urban choice mushrooms and mountaineer cheese
  • Pumpkin and marscapone cheesecake
  • Spiced apple crumble

Thanksgiving at The Whaling Company

Enjoy Thanksgiving at The Whaling Company. A turkey dinner with all the trimmings is just $21 for adults or $11for children. (If you would like all white or dark meat, there will be an additional charge of $5.) If you don’t like turkey, their full menu will be served. The Whaling Company is open from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. Reservations are recommended by calling 757-229-0275.

Want to have someone else do the cooking but want to eat at home? Thanksgiving can be ordered from Two Drummers Smokehouse. Their smoked turkey is amazing!

Lastly, many local grocery stores offer prepared Thanksgiving feasts including Publix, Fresh Market and Harris Teeter at Governor’s Green and Lightfoot Marketplace.
