[ARCHIVED] Williamsburg-Area Localities Recognized for Enrolling Citizens in Medicaid Expansion Program

On Oct. 30, the Williamsburg Health Foundation (WHF) celebrated Medicaid Expansion in Virginia and the work of Williamsburg-area localities to enroll local citizens. Medicaid Expansion gives more adults access to low-cost or no-cost health insurance. Having reliable health insurance gives peace of mind and greater financial security. It helps individuals to be more productive in their jobs and allows families to spend more time together so that they can enjoy a high quality of life. Since the program began in January 2019, 1,995 adults have been enrolled in James City County, which reflects over 40% of the uninsured population of the County who now have access to quality healthcare. For more information, call James City County Department of Social Services at 757-259-3131 or visit the website.
