[ARCHIVED] New Director Appointed to Economic Development Authority

The Economic Development Authority (EDA) of James City County is pleased to announce that the Board of Supervisors appointed a new director, Joseph Stanko, to the EDA to serve through Aug. 2023.

Stanko is the president and a partner of Diverging Approach, Inc., a certified small business headquartered in the County. Stanko has extensive knowledge in business and engineering in the railroad industry. He is a resident of James City County.

The EDA is a seven-member volunteer board whose members are appointed by the Board of Supervisors and serve staggered four-year terms. The Authority’s function is to pursue and comply with the goals and objectives set forth in the Comprehensive Plan; to advise the Board of Supervisors through the County Administrator of any application made by an agent or representative of a prospective facility requesting the Authority to issue bonds; and to advise the governing body of James City County of the potential location of the facility.
