Printpack, a leading manufacturer of flexible and specialty rigid packaging, recently initiated several major projects designed to position the company for the future. As a part of this positioning, the company has announced plans to add an additional $7 million in new capital investment to their existing rigid packaging facility in James City County. Since opening in the County in 1985, the company has continued to expand its local operations. “The continued success of our existing business is very important to James City County,” said Russell Seymour, James City County’s Director of Economic Development. “We are pleased to be a part of Printpack’s continued success.”

This latest announcement is yet another example of Printpack’s continued commitment to being a strong corporate citizen. The company has worked with James City County on numerous local initiatives, including the expansion of regional recycling efforts and as a partner with the County and the Williamsburg-James City County School Division in its annual Manufacturing Day program. The company is also a committed partner with the Grove Christian Outreach Center and an annual participant in the United Way Campaign. “James City County is indeed pleased with its long-term relationship with Printpack,” said County Administrator, Bryan Hill. “The company has been and continues to be a significant part of the County’s strong local economic base.” I am thankful to have great business leaders in James City County, this organization has been instrumental in our growth as well as our future as we work on the County’s strategic plan.”

In light of Printpack’s continued investment and growth, Jim Stevenson, Director of Operations for Printpack Rigid, said, “Our business was founded here in James City County. We were pioneers in the barrier rigid plastic container market and have grown from a small startup venture to a large and thriving enterprise. We have enjoyed a long, mutually beneficial relationship with the County and look forward to many more successful years here.”
