After a winter snooze, many area attractions are springing open for another season of fun. Make sure to check out our insider tips for each of these attractions and events.
- Go Ape at Freedom Park launches into the trees again on Friday, March 13. Go Ape Freedom Park features two outdoor adventures so the whole family can experience treetop fun. Go Ape Treetop Adventure features five treetop obstacle course sections, leading you higher into the forest canopy. Guests will navigate 37 exciting crossings like the Big U, Trapeze, two Tarzan swings and five exhilarating zip lines. 10 years of age and younger, our Treetop Junior course offers junior appropriate challenges and a great time. When you Go Ape you get an outdoor adventure the whole family can share!
Tip: New this year, you can enjoy outdoor axe throwing or test your fears on the new monkey drop – a 40 foot drop from the trees! Some restrictions apply to both of these activities. - Busch Gardens Williamsburg reopens on Saturday, March 15. Fun is always in season at Busch Gardens Williamsburg with thrilling roller coasters, world-class dining, abundant shopping options, kid-friendly attractions and exciting events. The park has been voted the World’s Most Beautiful Theme Park every year since 1990. Later this spring, Pantheon, a new roller coaster in the Festa Italia area of the park, will open.
Tip: There’s a sneak peek day for members and pass holders on Saturday, March 14. You can also purchase memberships beginning at only $10.99 a month.
- Go-Karts Plus reopens on Friday, March 20. Go-Karts Plus is the area’s premier family entertainment center and features go-karts including four tracks, 19 holes of mini golf, family-friendly and thrill rides and a video arcade with redemption prizes.
Tip: Spectators are allowed to walk around the park, take pictures or just observe without paying a dime! - The Williamsburg Winery Cycling Club resumes on Sunday, March 22. There are two different cycling routes available at different lengths and Cycling Club occurs every Sunday weather permitting. This is a free event.
