The Planning Commission Working Group (PCWG) will hold a work session on Monday, April 6 at 4 p.m. to continue its work on Engage 2045, the process to update the 2015 Comprehensive Plan entitled Toward 2035: Leading the Way. The PCWG is comprised of all seven members of the Planning Commission and one member of the Community Participation Team (CPT) and is tasked with leading the development of the draft Comprehensive Plan. The PCWG’s agenda for this meeting will include a review of County goals and public input themes, draft scenario narratives, performance scenarios, and next steps. It will conclude with a discussion on agenda items.
The meeting will be held electronically pursuant to the Emergency Ordinance adopted by the Board of Supervisors on March 24, 2020. The meeting will have a live audio and video broadcast accessible through the County website https://jamescitycountyva.gov and public access cable channel television 48. The Comprehensive Plan is the County’s master plan for guiding future growth. It is reviewed every five years and is used to evaluate development proposals and guide the decisions of County departments over the next 20 years. As the update process continues, the CPT will provide County citizens and business community with many opportunities to participate in the process, including public meetings, online questionnaires and events.
