Police Remind Citizens to Lock Vehicle Doors

Lock Your Car Doors

Larcenies from unlocked motor vehicles are one of the most prevalent crimes in James City County. Residents are encouraged to always lock their car doors even when they are at home. Residents should also always remove valuables (especially electronics and firearms).

Most vehicles have a glove box, center console or trunk area that locks; use those additional security features on your vehicle to secure valuables out of sight if you’re not able to remove them. But, whenever possible, leave your valuables secured at home.
