[ARCHIVED] 4:45 a.m. Weather Update - County Offices, Facilities to Open at 10 a.m., Courts Closed

James City County Closures & Cancellations

Due to inclement weather, all County offices, services and facilities including the James City County Recreation Center and Convenience Centers, will open at 10 a.m. on Feb. 12. Abram Frink Jr. Community Center is not affected and will open as scheduled at 4 p.m.

Courts are closed for the day. 

Libraries remain closed due to the pandemic, but phone, online chat services and curbside services will begin at 10 a.m.

As of 4:45 a.m., snow and sleet is starting to accumulate on primary roads with patches of ices on the ramps. Secondary roadways are mostly icy and slippery. 

No power outages are reported.

Residents should continue to monitor the weather and local media for the latest updates. County closings and weather-related information will be posted on the County website and social media, and

County residents can sign up to receive important emergency alerts, notifications and updates on their cell phones, emails and more at Text messages charges may apply.

Road conditions may change rapidly and motorists should consider adjusting travel plans, staying at home if travel is not necessary and visiting, calling 511 or listening to 1680AM for current traffic and travel information.
