[ARCHIVED] Kingsmill Championship returns to James City County

Golf at Kingsmill Resort

The Kingsmill Championship will once again host some of the top players of the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) on the renowned River Course at Kingsmill Resort on May 16-22, 2016. Defending champion, Minjee Lee, is slated to defend her title from 2015. Other players who are scheduled to participate in the Kingsmill Championship include Cristie Kerr, Paula Creamer, Natalie Gulbis, Michelle Wie and Morgan Pressel.

As part of the tournament, there will once again be an LPGA Junior Clinic presented by James City County for children. Pre-registration is required to participate, but there is no cost to participate.

New this year is the Kingsmill Junior Golf Invitational which will be held May 14-15 and include 60 players who have one Mid-Atlantic PGA tournaments and top scorers from Virginia and Maryland based on their Junior Golf Scoreboard rankings.
Military service members and their families are once again invited to enjoy the tournament with complimentary military tickets and also enjoy a special hospitality tent, the Patriots’ Outpost, on the 15th green. The Patriots’ Outpost presented by Dove will have complimentary snacks and drinks.

Tickets for the Kingsmill Championship are on sale now and as always, juniors aged 17 and under receive complimentary admission with a paid adult ticket.
