[ARCHIVED] Parks Master Plan Update Underway!

Get Involved, We Need Your Help!
Share Your Vision…Shape Our Future as we begin the 2021 Parks Master Plan update process! The 2021 update of the Plan will provide staff, elected officials and citizens with a valuable planning tool to guide the development of three park facilities over the next 10 years and beyond. Improvements will be completed based on community and citizen needs as well as available funding. Please take a moment and review the improvements, challenges and proposals for each park – James City County Recreation Center Park, Upper County Park and Warhill Sports Complex. Help us determine how to provide the services important to you and your family over the next ten years and beyond:

 Take the Survey by June 14:
If you’re unable to attend a meeting, please complete the survey online. Share your vision for the future planning of the James City County Recreation Center Park (park adjacent to Center), Upper County Park and the Warhill Sports Complex. Please follow the proposed changes link for an overview of current amenities and the proposed changes.

If you prefer to email us, please answer the survey questions below and send your responses to parks.rec@jamescitycountyva.gov. Please review the proposed changes for each park and complete the survey by June 14.

1) Have you used the James City County Recreation Center Park over the past five years?

►Are there amenities shown in the proposed Master Plan map for this park which you feel are not needed?
►If you have not visited the park, can you tell us why not?
►After reviewing the proposed changes for each park, which improvements do you feel will be a challenge to complete? What types of challenges do you see in completion?

2) Have you used Upper County Park over the past five years?
►If Yes, what amenities would you like to see in this park?
►Are there amenities shown in the proposed Master Plan map for this park which you feel are not needed?
►If you have not visited the park, can you tell us why not?
►After reviewing the proposed changes for each park, which improvements do you feel will be a challenge to complete? What types of challenges do you see in completion?

3) Have you used the Warhill Sports Complex over the past five years?
►If Yes, what amenities would you like to see in this park?
►Are there amenities shown in the proposed Master Plan map for this park which you feel are not needed?
►If you have not visited the park, can you tell us why not?
►After reviewing the proposed changes for each park, which improvements do you feel will be a challenge to complete? What types of challenges do you see in completion?

4) Are you a James City County or Williamsburg resident? If not, in which other locality do you live?
