Newport News, Va. — On Thursday, November 4, 2021, the Hampton Peninsula Community Vaccination Clinic (CVC) will begin to offer the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5 to 11, following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Food and Drug Administration.
The Hampton Peninsula CVC is located at 13785 Warwick Boulevard, Newport News, VA in the former Ferguson Building in the Sherwood Shopping Center. The CVC operates Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. with the last appointment at 7:30 pm. Vaccinations for children 5-11 are by appointment only. Appointments can be made on line at https://vaccinate.virginia.gov or by calling 877-VAX-IN-VA (877-829-4682).
Boosters are also available to individuals who received the second dose of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 or Moderna vaccine or a first dose of Johnson & Johnson vaccine six or more months ago and meet one of the following criteria:
- Are 65 years and older
- 18 and above with underlying medical conditions
- Live or work in a high risk setting (ex: healthcare workers, first responders, teachers, educational staff, grocery store employees, postal employees, and others)
First (1st) and second (2nd) doses are also available. Appointments are encouraged.
Everyone 5 years and older is eligible to be vaccinated against COVID-19, and Hampton & Peninsula Health Districts encourage all Virginians to get their vaccination if they haven’t already done so. For more information on COVID-19 in Virginia, visit vdh.virginia.gov/coronavirus.
