Public Alert: ATM Card Skimmer Detected

2022 Scam Alert - NF

The Police Department is investigating a credit card skimming device discovered on an ATM at the 7-Eleven at 7327 Pocahontas Trail. The duration of this skimming device's presence on the ATM remains uncertain; an investigation is underway. To safeguard your finances, we urge residents, particularly those recently using this ATM, to carefully monitor their bank accounts for suspicious activity.

To protect yourself from potential fraud, police recommend taking the following steps:

  1. Check your bank statements regularly for unauthorized transactions.
  2. Contact your financial institution immediately if you notice any suspicious activity.
  3. Report the incident to the James City County Police Department at 757-253-1800 and provide details of your experience.
